After 2 weeks in the care of one of our amazing bird carers, these kookaburras were ready for release. We took them back to where they came from and they quickly flew off into the trees to reclaim their territory with a good laugh. Their family members flew in and welcomed them back and we happily watched as a chorus of jolly laughs filled the park, before they all flew off together. While there we also saw this family of maned wood ducks.

Remember, if you ever find an animal or bird and take them to the vets, please leave the details of where you found them. Most adults have set territories and if we don’t know where they come from, then it’s very hard for us to release them once they’re ready.
